The author is very upbeat about the benefits of 3-D Printing. If you had a one-time access to such a printer, what would you print? Explain your choice in at least two paragraphs. Make sure you make a wise / worthwhile selection.
If I had a onetime access to a 3D printer, I would print out another 3D printer of my own and amount of material necessary to create more items. I choose to print another 3D printer because that way I can have access to all the benefits of having a 3D printer. I would be able to print out any item I want off the internet and can customize the goods I want to buy. I would also not have to go to the market anymore to buy certain household items, for example light bulbs or other appliances.
With the printing of another 3D printer, I won’t be restricted to a one time access only to any 3D printer for now I would have my own. I’d share my printer with my family and might even turn out a profit if I wanted to. I can charge people to use my 3D printer. If for example, someone would like something they recently saw online but cannot afford to have it shipped to Lebanon, I can print out the item and send it to them very easily. The only problem however is that I may not have the materials necessary to print out the objects I want, and this is where I might have to pay in order to have access to more materials. However, that shouldn’t be too big a concern if I have the printer. With the money I can collect from my parents and the money I can make in the future, I can buy more of the materials. In the end, I think the smartest choice would be to print a 3D printer. Why get once chance to use it when you can have an infinite amount?
hahaha I liked that!! You reminded me of the times when we were kids and used to watch Aladdin....whenever we put ourselves in Aladdin's position and thought about the three wishes, we thought we'd wish for an unlimited number of wishes. How can heroes in movies be so stupid?!?! Another point I wanted to mention is that you seem to have such bright ideas and economical skills; no wonder you're majoring in business!!! However, you seem to be a bit kindhearted and humble....work on changing that!!! Ok, I was kidding, you don't have to be selfish to succeed in business, and I do remember that you said that you are humble when you compared yourself to a potato in your self-introduction at the beginning of this semester, we've grown to realize that ourselves :)
If I had access to a 3D printer, I would like to print a huge library in my room, a library that contains lots of books and documents that I need. The 3D printing is a very advantageous process, by which we can print anything we want with a lower cost and faster. The fact that I want a library in my room is that I love reading books and documents, especially the ones that are about my major. Having a library in my room would help me will all the information i need for my major, and maybe I won't need to go to the university anymore since I have everything I need in my room. I would really like to make use of the 3D printing one day, it would maybe help me achieve my dreams faster.
If I had a one-time access for 3D printing, I will undoubtedly choose to print a small jet for my use only. My selection falls on this item because distance has meant quite a lot for me in the past three years. In 2009, my father travelled to Dubai for business purposes, and it turned into a permanent stay. The basic location of his work is now in Dubai, and he comes to visit us occasionally. The same thing has happened with my sister who had to move out of the country and leave us. A lot of friends and loved ones have been obliged to escape our country due to several harsh circumstances, and distance has been certainly a tough reality of mine. I choose to print a small, private jet for my use only so that all the overwhelming feelings of missing somebody can be toned down by a short visit. If I had a plane, everything would be easier, and the warmth of having dear ones around would come back after a long time of disappearance. The outpouring emotions of love and fondness must be fulfilled in every person's life, no matter how old he/she is. A sweet word from your loved ones, a listening ear, and wise advice are what I have been lacking for quite some time now, and this plane will undoubtedly help satisfy my needs
If I had only one access for 3D printing, I guess I would print a private airplane. I love travelling across the world and pay a visit to some countries I have in mind such as Hawai, Prague, Paris, etc. However, my one and only aim is to visit my brothers and sister who are working abroad. If I had one chance to lessen the distance between my brothers, sister and I, I would have definitely taken it. I could see them only few times in many years. So if printing a plane is a means to see them, I print one. In addition, it is very fun to always travel and see the world in your free time. In this case, whenever I feel blue, I could just ride that plane and go whenever I want to go. However, since I have only one access to this 3D printer, the best thing to do is to print another 3D printing so that I can print anything I want a gazillian times :)
If I had the opportunity to use the 3-D printer once, I would print a clone of myself. This would only work if the future technology can create life. A clone would be used to handle surplus workloads and could benefit me. He could study one subject and I would study for another exam and the information could be synced over a processor established late in the future. We could both take similar jobs and double me income. He can be used for daunting and annoying tasks. Although this idea is very unrealistic, it is very pleasing and beneficial. Imagine you have a a second hand to take care of your chores. A person who does your homework but in reality it is you who is doing it. The original can enjoy a consequence free life. He also can work instead of you but all he could require is the five basic needs in life. His emotions and feelings are not present and would obey your every command.
If I had to use the 3D printer only once I would print a book, the only way to do so would be to probably take the book printing to a new level. Now with the new technologies of using a book such as the kendel, I would want to use 3D printing to sustain the importance of the pages of a book. The whole concept is to maintain the real feel of the book. While the kendel is electronic, the 3D printing would be a way to completely deteriorate the concept of kendel. The point of printing this book would be a personal statement I would be making. I would want to use a new technology to keep an old tradition. I would be proving to myself that this new technology called 3D printing would not be ruining the utility of the book : which is to skim through pages for example. Anyone would actually say that it is useless to only print one book, but on the personal scale it would mean much more than that.
3-D printers are definitely one of the most interesting machines technology has brought to us. The idea of being able to print out actual objects really triggers the imagination. I’m not very sure what I would print out if I had access to one of these printers. I would want to print out something beneficial, like maybe a coat or umbrella for one of the kids that always stop me on Bliss Street. If I had to choose one single thing though, I’d probably choose to print out a hot air balloon that says “THERE IS HOPE”. People walking around feeling a bit hopeless could look up and see it, and even though it may sound silly it could at least make people smile. People who need a break from reality and need to see things from a different perspective for a while could also hop aboard.
If I had access to a 3D printer, I most probably would print out an extra pair of lungs just in case, God forbid, a loved one of mine needs them in the future because of all the damage they have caused to their lungs from smoking. Actually, I'd print out enough lungs for the entire country of Lebanon!! With all the pollution swamping over Cities like a great big cloud of death and all the citizens that reside under this big black cloud of smog and disease also smoking cigarettes on top of that, we unfortunately need some "back up plans" for if their lungs were to fail them. If I were an organ in my body (strange thought, just go along) I would be pretty upset with all the abuse it has to go through; car smog, factory smog, pollution, chemicals constantly being let out into the air, cigarettes, etc, etc, etc. Even those who don't abuse cigarettes and hookah (although I rarely know people who don't) are still encountering great health damage from the toxic environment of Lebanon.
This is why if I had access to a 3D Printer, I would print out spare organs for the diseased population, especially for my loved ones because sadly enough, some of family members are chain smokers and I want to help them. This capability of 3D printing is really astounding will surely help the future of the world and health care. Of course, 3D printing can be used to print out a very large range of things, I find the use of it to print out tissues, organs, entire body parts, etc, to be the most beneficial for humanity. If only I had access to a 3D Printer!!
If I had a one time access to a 3D printer, I would print out my conscience in a form of a real person so that I'd have someone to push me forward all the time. He/She would be aware of my capabilities and what I'm supposed to do. That is because lately I've been neglecting that little voice inside my head but I know that had I listened to it more often I'd be in a better place. Instead of having the choice to listen to the judgement of my conscience, in this case I'm not, I would have the opportunity to listen to the loud advises of the only 'person' who truly knows what is best for me. I choose a print out for a conscience because I, for one, think each and everyone of us should have that little voice in our heads on the outside because sometimes we understand better if we heard the advice out loud. It would be a lot easier if you had someone you can actually see to lead you and guide you to do the right thing. What I have been going through of lacking the necessary advice for a better life is what i really need and no thing is better than you advise yourself for the best.
If I had the chance to use a 3D printer, I would print a clone of my mother because she is the best person in my life and when she isn't around for example now that she is in Saudi, I know that the clone of her will always be here to comfort me and support me. Even though the clone will not replace her completely because no one can be as perfect as she is, but yet seeing her face everyday makes me feel stronger and that no matter what I am not alone, she is always there to help me. I can not really express what it would feel like, I would just wish that it would happen.
3D printing is a very less consuming process, it allows different products to be custom made in less time and with more efficiency. It's a revolution in Lebanon and it's one of the most beneficial processes. Also firms can finally go green with a better quality. But the disadvantages are that good ideas can be ideas can be copied really rapidly. Also, Lebanon will be less dependant on other countries and with absence of electricity, this revolution will change the world. I'm very glad that traditonal printers are finally replaced by 3D printers.
